Submit

We accept journalistic pitches and unsolicited submissions of writing and fine art photography for future issues on a rolling basis. We’re specifically looking for ideas that add to the conversation surrounding California’s arts, architecture, design, and culture—a photo essay that invites us inside an unconventional community in the High Desert, for example, or a profile of a Los Angeles architect, painter, filmmaker, or restauranteur, or an essay on generational trauma in the Central Valley that weaves memoir with reportage.
In addition to interviews, profiles, reviews, critical essays, photo essays, and opinion pieces, we publish one piece of short fiction and 4-5 poems per issue.
To submit your work for consideration, please read the following guidelines carefully:
All submissions must be in English and previously unpublished. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, as long as we are notified immediately if your submission is accepted for publication elsewhere
Please include a cover letter with a short bio, stating where your work has been published, if relevant.
